It’s hot out in the Northern Hemisphere, and I wanted to chat to you about liquid meals. You might have noticed that your appetite is easier to satisfy in the heat, which makes it the perfect time to replace one or two meals per day with a smoothie (or a liter of juice if you’re feeling brave!). Here are some tips on how to do it:
- Replace your lightest meal of the day with a liquid meal
- Experiment with recipes first. Find a hearty smoothie that contains healthy fats to begin.
- Add a cup or more of greens to your liquid meal (or follow a recipe containing fresh leafy greens such as spinach)
- Try adding superfood powders such as spirulina, maca, cacao, hemp seeds or goji berries.
- Find a non-dairy protein powder you love. The best place to shop for them is your local Whole Foods store.
